A successful secondary school in Gloucester is seeking an experienced and analytical Data Manager to join its operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised individual who enjoys working with data, developing efficient systems and providing accurate information that supports whole-school improvement.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department and the Examinations Officer, you will oversee the school's Management Information System, ensuring student data is accurate, secure and readily available to support teaching, learning and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to colleagues across the school.

Data Team
The Data Team supports all areas of the school by providing accurate information that informs teaching, assessment, attendance and strategic planning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the school's Management Information System.
Maintaining accurate student records.
Producing assessment, attendance and progress reports.
Coordinating statutory census returns.
Supporting curriculum and timetable data management.
Working closely with the Examinations Officer.
Producing reports for governors and senior leaders.
Monitoring data accuracy across all school systems.
Ensuring GDPR compliance and secure data management.
Supporting staff with MIS training and technical guidance.
Developing efficient reporting processes.
Identifying opportunities to improve school data systems.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the school's operational team, helping leaders use accurate information to drive school improvement and maximise student outcomes.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Data Manager or similar role.
Excellent knowledge of school Management Information Systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
