Science Teacher Role in a High-Achieving Foundation School

About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire students and develop their scientific understanding.
Students study Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through a broad and ambitious curriculum, with a focus on practical investigation, scientific enquiry, and real-world applications. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations while encouraging analytical thinking and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through science clubs, STEM activities, practical workshops, and enrichment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Develop students’ scientific enquiry and problem-solving skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM activities and enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Experience supporting STEM activities
A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
