Working alongside the Headteacher and Office Manager, you will oversee the daily upkeep of the school site, carrying out routine maintenance and ensuring facilities remain in excellent condition throughout the year. Premises Team
The Premises Team plays an important role in maintaining the school's buildings and grounds while ensuring the site remains safe and fully operational throughout the year.
As Caretaker, your responsibilities will include:
Opening and locking the school site.
Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
Completing regular health and safety inspections.
Maintaining playgrounds, gardens and outdoor learning areas.
Monitoring heating, lighting and alarm systems.
Supporting contractors while they are working on site.
Preparing halls and classrooms for school events.
Reporting maintenance issues requiring specialist attention.
Assisting with deliveries and furniture movement.
Maintaining maintenance and compliance records.
Responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff.
Ensuring the school remains clean, safe and welcoming for pupils and visitors.
The successful candidate will become a valued member of the school community, helping ensure pupils enjoy a safe, well-maintained environment every day.
Requirements
Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience is desirable.
Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
Understanding of basic health and safety procedures.
