Spanish Teacher Role in a Catholic Secondary School
A welcoming Catholic Secondary School in Peterborough is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Spanish Teacher to join its successful Modern Foreign Languages department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Students study a rich curriculum covering Spanish language, literature, culture, and global perspectives. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations while encouraging fluency, confidence, and a genuine enthusiasm for the Spanish-speaking world.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through language clubs, cultural events, trips abroad, exchange opportunities, and enrichment activities that bring language learning to life.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and challenging language lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations
Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support language trips, clubs, and cultural enrichment activities
Encourage confidence and enthusiasm for language learning

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills
Ability to inspire students of all abilities
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach another Modern Foreign Language
Experience organising language trips or cultural activities
A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
