The Role
A progressive Secondary Academy in Bristol is seeking a professional, highly articulate, and exceptionally organised School Receptionist to join their busy central administration and front-of-house team. This position is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced receptionist, corporate administrator, or customer relations specialist looking to manage a vital front-line student and visitor hub within a highly supportive and modern learning environment.
The successful candidate will take full operational accountability for the daily running of the main reception area, serving as the principal point of contact for parents, visiting educational professionals, and members of the regional community. Primary responsibilities include managing a high-volume digital switchboard, routing telephone queries, sorting incoming and outgoing mail logistics, and operating the school's digital access control software to manage visitor security logs. You will also coordinate basic attendance tracking entries, manage the centralized reception email inbox, and assist the wider administrative faculty with data entry and document printing during quieter desk periods.
You will support strict safeguarding protocols by ensuring all on-site visitors are cross-referenced with statutory logs, DBS files, and issued appropriate identification tracking. A warm, welcoming manner under pressure, superb communication skills, and complete discretion are essential to maintaining a safe, professional, and efficient frontline environment.

Requirements
Proven practical experience in a front-of-house receptionist, administrative support, or customer-facing role
Basic IT and database literacy, with the comfort to navigate digital logging platforms, emails, and student databases (such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and clear telephone manner
Clear understanding of basic school safeguarding and visitor tracking security parameters
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an approachable, calm presence
