Maths Teacher Role in a Sixth Form Centre
A successful Sixth Form Centre in Manchester is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Maths Teacher to join its Mathematics department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ mathematical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and confidence.
Students study a rigorous curriculum covering algebra, calculus, statistics, mechanics, and advanced mathematical techniques. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations while encouraging independent learning and analytical thinking.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through maths enrichment sessions, competitions, extension activities, and programmes designed to support students’ progression into higher education and STEM-related careers.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations
Develop students’ reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support maths enrichment and extension programmes
Encourage students to pursue further study and careers involving Mathematics

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary or post-16 level
Ability to teach GCSE and A-Level Mathematics confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Desirable
Experience teaching Further Mathematics
Experience supporting university preparation or maths enrichment
Ability to inspire and challenge academically ambitious students
A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
