Maths Teacher Role in an Independent Day School
An established Independent Day School in Gloucester is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Maths Teacher to join its successful Mathematics department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ mathematical understanding, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
Students follow an ambitious curriculum covering algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, calculus, and advanced mathematical concepts. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations while encouraging independent thinking, resilience, and confidence when approaching complex problems.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through maths clubs, competitions, enrichment activities, and extension programmes that allow students to explore mathematics beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and challenging lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations
Develop students’ reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support maths enrichment activities and competitions
Encourage students to develop confidence and enthusiasm for Mathematics

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level or Further Mathematics
Experience supporting maths competitions or enrichment programmes
Ability to challenge and inspire students of all abilities
A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
