Humanities Teacher Role in a State Boarding School
A well-established State Boarding School in Skegness is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and versatile Humanities Teacher to join its successful Humanities faculty from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Humanities across Key Stage 3, with the opportunity to specialise in either Geography or History at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 depending on experience and subject expertise.
Students follow a broad curriculum that encourages them to explore historical events, geographical processes, environmental issues, political systems, and global cultures. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop analytical thinking, research skills, and the ability to evaluate a range of perspectives.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through educational visits, fieldwork, enrichment activities, clubs, and projects that encourage students to apply their learning beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Humanities across KS3, with a specialism at KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations in your specialist subject
Develop students' analytical, research, and evaluative skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support educational visits, fieldwork, and enrichment activities
Promote curiosity, critical thinking, and global awareness

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 Humanities and a Humanities specialism at KS4
Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management skills
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Desirable
Ability to teach Geography or History to A-Level
Experience organising educational visits or fieldwork
Experience contributing to wider school enrichment programmes
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
