Geography Teacher Role in a Church of England Secondary School
A highly regarded Church of England Secondary School in Skegness is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join its successful Humanities department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Geography across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students' geographical knowledge, fieldwork skills, and critical thinking.
Students study a diverse curriculum covering physical geography, human geography, climate change, ecosystems, urbanisation, sustainability, and global development. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations while encouraging them to analyse contemporary issues and appreciate the interconnected nature of the modern world.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through fieldwork opportunities, geography clubs, environmental projects, educational visits, and enrichment activities that bring learning beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Geography across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations
Develop students' geographical enquiry, research, and analytical skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support fieldwork, educational visits, and extracurricular activities
Promote environmental awareness and global citizenship

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Geography at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Geography
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Geography
Experience organising fieldwork and educational visits
Ability to contribute to environmental or sustainability initiatives
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
