Working closely with the Head of Science and teaching staff, you will play a key role in preparing laboratories, organising practical resources and ensuring experiments are delivered safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will become an important part of a collaborative department that is committed to inspiring students through practical scientific investigation.
This role would suit someone with previous laboratory experience or a strong science background who enjoys working in a practical environment.

Science Department
The Science department is a busy and successful faculty delivering Biology, Chemistry and Physics across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Practical investigations form an essential part of the curriculum, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge through engaging laboratory work.
As Science Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Preparing equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.
Setting up experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Preparing chemical solutions safely and accurately.
Maintaining laboratory equipment and apparatus.
Ordering and monitoring stock of laboratory materials.
Ensuring laboratories comply with health and safety regulations.
Supporting teachers during practical lessons where appropriate.
Maintaining chemical inventories and storage systems.
Safely disposing of laboratory waste.
Preparing practical resources for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
Assisting with Science enrichment events and STEM activities.
Keeping laboratories clean, organised and fully equipped.

Requirements
Previous Science Technician or laboratory experience is desirable.
Good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures.
