A successful secondary school in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Data Manager to oversee the school's data systems and provide accurate information that supports teaching, learning and strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and reporting while playing a key role in school improvement.
Working alongside the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department and examinations staff, you will manage student data, assessment information and statutory returns while ensuring the school's management information system remains accurate, secure and fully compliant.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to colleagues across the school.

Data Team
The Data Team provides accurate information that supports teaching, assessment, attendance, examinations and strategic planning. As Data Manager, you will oversee the school's data processes while ensuring information is maintained accurately and securely.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the school's Management Information System.
Producing assessment and progress reports.
Coordinating census returns and statutory submissions.
Supporting senior leaders with data analysis.
Maintaining accurate student records.
Producing performance reports for governors and leadership.
Supporting timetable and curriculum data management.
Working closely with the Examinations Officer.
Ensuring GDPR compliance across all data systems.
Developing efficient reporting processes.
Providing training and support for staff using the MIS.
Identifying opportunities to improve data management systems.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the operations team, helping the school use accurate information to drive student achievement and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Data Manager or within school data administration.
Strong knowledge of school Management Information Systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and present data clearly.
Excellent organisational skills.
Professional and confidential approach.
Commitment to safeguarding and data protection.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
