Science Teacher Role in a Girls’ School
A successful Girls’ School in Peterborough is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its thriving Science department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ scientific understanding, practical skills, and analytical thinking.
Students study a broad curriculum across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a strong focus on experimentation, scientific enquiry, and applying knowledge to real-world contexts. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations while encouraging independence, problem-solving, and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through STEM clubs, science competitions, practical workshops, educational visits, and enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Develop students’ scientific enquiry and problem-solving skills
Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM enrichment activities and science initiatives

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Experience supporting STEM clubs or science enrichment
A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
