The Role

A renowned Secondary School in Buckinghamshire is seeking a professional, highly creative, and exceptionally organised Art & Design Teacher to join their prominent Visual Arts faculty. The successful candidate will deliver a dynamic and challenging timetable across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, preparing students for exceptional outcomes in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture up to GCSE and A-Level art specifications. Beyond classroom teaching, you will be expected to construct precise student progress tracking portfolios, manage internal departmental material inventories, update school tracking software, and actively coordinate local gallery excursions, public art exhibitions, and student studio workshops.

You will support crisp communication with parents, local artists, and external examination boards, ensuring that all physical coursework portfolios, moderation registers, and assessment logs are processed with total accuracy. Strong administrative and organizational skills are crucial, as the role requires balancing intensive studio verification frameworks with rigorous context evaluation preparation within a busy school calendar.

Requirements

• A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a degree in Fine Art, Visual Communication, or a closely related creative discipline

• Previous experience delivering Art & Design specifications up to GCSE and A-Level with a track record of strong results

• Strong data literacy and IT skills, with complete confidence using digital art logs and tracking platforms

• Professional and proactive approach to monitoring student metrics and managing active studio spaces safely

• Ability to work effectively and adaptably within a fast-paced, high-achieving faculty
