Geography Teacher Role in a Coastal Secondary School
A well-respected Coastal Secondary School in Skegness is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join its successful Humanities department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Geography across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity about the world and the challenges facing local and global communities.
Students study a broad curriculum including physical geography, human geography, climate change, ecosystems, urban development, sustainability, and geographical enquiry. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations while developing their analytical, research, and fieldwork skills.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through field trips, geography clubs, environmental projects, and enrichment activities that encourage students to apply their learning beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Geography across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations
Develop students' geographical enquiry, analytical, and fieldwork skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support fieldwork, enrichment activities, and educational visits
Encourage environmental awareness and global citizenship

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Geography at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Geography
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Geography
Experience organising fieldwork and educational visits
Ability to contribute to wider environmental or sustainability initiatives
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
