A welcoming primary school in Cheltenham is looking to appoint a professional and highly organised HR Administrator to join its experienced support staff team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a people-focused role and has a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support across all aspects of human resources, helping to ensure the school continues to recruit, retain and support high-quality staff.
Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will oversee the administration of recruitment, onboarding, personnel records and compliance processes while ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times. You will play a vital role in supporting staff throughout their employment journey and ensuring HR procedures are completed efficiently and accurately.
This role would suit someone with previous HR or school administration experience who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the smooth operation of a busy school.

Human Resources Team
The HR function plays an important role in supporting staff across every area of the school. As HR Administrator, you will ensure HR processes are completed efficiently while providing professional support to leaders and colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting recruitment campaigns and interview administration.
Preparing contracts, offer letters and employment documentation.
Coordinating pre-employment checks and safeguarding compliance.
Maintaining confidential personnel records.
Processing staff absence and leave administration.
Supporting induction arrangements for new employees.
Updating HR databases and management systems.
Assisting with appraisal and training administration.
Preparing HR reports for senior leaders where required.
Responding to staff HR enquiries professionally.
Supporting policy administration and document management.
Assisting with wider administrative duties when required.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the support staff team, helping to ensure colleagues receive an efficient and professional HR service.
Requirements
Previous HR or administrative experience.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
