A successful secondary school in Ipswich is looking to appoint a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join its dedicated support staff team. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set while maintaining a positive and purposeful learning environment. Cover Team
The Cover Team ensures that learning continues with minimal disruption whenever teachers are absent. As a Cover Supervisor, you will become a valued member of the school's daily operations, providing consistent classroom supervision and helping students remain focused throughout lessons.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising classes using work prepared by teaching staff.
Maintaining a calm and purposeful classroom environment.
Managing student behaviour in line with school policies.
Supporting students with questions relating to lesson instructions.
Recording attendance and reporting any concerns.
Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
Supporting examinations and assessment activities where required.
Assisting with break and lunchtime supervision when appropriate.
Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations.
Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams.
Supporting school events and enrichment activities when required.
Maintaining accurate records of cover sessions completed.

Requirements
