A successful secondary school in Ipswich is looking to appoint a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join its dedicated support staff team. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set while maintaining a positive and purposeful learning environment. Cover Team

The Cover Team ensures that learning continues with minimal disruption whenever teachers are absent. As a Cover Supervisor, you will become a valued member of the school's daily operations, providing consistent classroom supervision and helping students remain focused throughout lessons.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes using work prepared by teaching staff.

• Maintaining a calm and purposeful classroom environment.

• Managing student behaviour in line with school policies.

• Supporting students with questions relating to lesson instructions.

• Recording attendance and reporting any concerns.

• Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

• Supporting examinations and assessment activities where required.

• Assisting with break and lunchtime supervision when appropriate.

• Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations.

• Working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams.

• Supporting school events and enrichment activities when required.

• Maintaining accurate records of cover sessions completed.
