The Role
A thriving Secondary School in Plymouth is seeking a professional, highly motivated, and exceptionally organised Female PE Teacher to join their dedicated sports department. This position carries a genuine occupational requirement to ensure privacy and appropriate safeguarding oversight across female changing spaces, team logistics, and specialized athletic coaching frameworks.
Operating across multiple key stages, you will share responsibility for the delivery of a diverse, inclusive practical curriculum alongside targeted academic theory lessons. Day-to-day duties include coaching a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, managing student progress profiles, and preparing exam cohorts for success in GCSE and BTEC Sport specifications. You will also take operational ownership of setting up morning sports hubs, tracking departmental equipment inventories on digital logs, and coordinating an active timetable of after-school clubs, health-and-fitness initiatives, and local school leagues.
You will act as an inspiring, helpful presence on-site, communicating professionally with the Head of Department, teaching faculty, and external community networks utilizing the sports halls out of hours. Exceptional time-management skills are necessary to balance real-time field tracking with precise theoretical assignment moderation.

Requirements
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a specialization in Physical Education or Sports Science

Clear understanding of basic health and safety protocols and safe off-site excursion frameworks
Good IT literacy, with the comfort to update central achievement databases and manage digital notification registers
