CORE PURPOSE
We require an exceptionally methodical, detail-oriented, and highly organized Compliance Manager to oversee and enforce the comprehensive statutory, regulatory, and health and safety framework of our vibrant primary school. Operating across a thriving campus catering to early years and primary-aged children, the successful candidate will hold sole operational responsibility for auditing, recording, and managing all school policies, statutory checks, risk assessments, and estate compliance, ensuring a rigorously safe, legal, and protective environment where young children can learn and thrive.
THE SCHOOL
Our primary school is dedicated to cultivating an ambitious, nurturing, and high-achieving learning environment where every child's educational journey is built upon a foundation of absolute safety and care. As a forward-thinking school with an excellent local reputation, we hold our operational integrity to the highest standards, recognizing that flawless regulatory compliance underpins outstanding learning. The administrative and estate compliance department is characterized by a culture of meticulous record-keeping, professional vigilance, and a collaborative, service-driven approach. We operate with a clear, well-structured governance framework, allowing our compliance manager to work alongside school leaders to maintain an exemplary, fully auditable environment for our pupils, staff, and families.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS

Rigorous Health & Safety Auditing: Oversee and document all routine site testing and safety checks, including fire safety systems, legionella water testing, asbestos registers, COSHH logs, and electrical or gas safety certificates.
Safeguarding & Single Central Record (SCR) Quality Assurance: Partner with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and human resources to audit the Single Central Record (SCR), verifying that all strict background checks, DBS clearances, and vetting procedures for staff, volunteers, and contractors are flawlessly recorded.
Policy Review & Risk Assessment Governance: Coordinate the scheduled review of all school operational policies, while evaluating, standardizing, and cataloguing comprehensive risk assessments across the entire physical environment—including classrooms, specialized Early Years outdoor learning zones, and off-site educational visits.
Contractor Vetting & Governance Liaison: Ensure that all external service partners and contractors are strictly vetted before entering the campus, while preparing comprehensive compliance reports for the Headteacher, Board of Governors, and external inspectorial bodies (such as Ofsted).
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: A proven track record in regulatory compliance, health and safety management, or strict administrative auditing, ideally within a primary school, secondary academy, or high-footfall public sector environment. Professional qualifications in health and safety (such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or a recognized compliance diploma) are highly desirable.
Analytical & Audit Capability: Exceptional technical capability in using compliance tracking software, managing complex data matrices, and translating complex statutory terminology into practical, actionable school procedures.
Methodical & Proactive Ethos: Outstanding organizational skills with an uncompromising eye for detail, coupled with the clear communication and interpersonal skills required to enforce rigorous standards and collaborate effectively with school staff and external stakeholders.

A Global Citadel of Scholarship, Heritage, and Rigorous Standards: Based in the beautiful, world-renowned city of Oxford, the school capitalizes on an extraordinary regional identity steeped in centuries of world-class academic history.
