What You'll Be Doing
As a member of their Geography department, you'll have the opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with A-Level teaching available for the right candidate.
Your role will include:
Delivering engaging, enquiry-based lessons that encourage students to think critically about the world around them.
Bringing topics such as physical landscapes, environmental change, globalisation and sustainable development to life.
Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations while nurturing a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
Using fieldwork, technology and current affairs to enrich learning and develop geographical enquiry skills.
Monitoring progress through effective assessment and providing feedback that helps every student succeed.
Working closely with colleagues to develop exciting curriculum resources and share best practice.
Supporting educational visits, field trips and enrichment activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
Taking an active role in the pastoral life of the school as a Form Tutor.
About You
We're looking for someone who loves their subject and enjoys sharing that passion with young people.
You'll ideally have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or be on track to achieve it.
A degree in Geography or a closely related discipline.
Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to high-quality teaching.
The ability to motivate, challenge and inspire students of all abilities.
High expectations of both academic achievement and student wellbeing.
A collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute to school life beyond the classroom.
