Art Technician
A successful Secondary School in Cheshire is seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to join its thriving Art department on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the arts who enjoys supporting practical learning and helping students achieve their creative potential. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Art and teaching staff to ensure all practical lessons are delivered efficiently within a well-organised and inspiring learning environment.
You will prepare specialist materials including paints, clay, textiles, printmaking equipment, ceramics resources, drawing materials and mixed-media supplies before lessons begin. You will ensure all classrooms and studios are fully prepared, maintain specialist equipment, organise storage areas and monitor stock levels throughout the academic year.
The role also includes mounting displays of students' work, preparing GCSE and A-Level exhibition pieces, supporting enrichment activities, maintaining kilns and specialist equipment where appropriate and assisting during practical examinations. You will help create an inspiring department where creativity is celebrated and students are encouraged to experiment confidently with a variety of artistic techniques.
Working collaboratively with teachers, you will ensure practical activities are delivered safely while maintaining high standards of organisation, cleanliness and health and safety throughout the department.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong practical abilities and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting creative education.
