CORE PURPOSE
We require an inspiring, scientifically precise Science Teacher to deliver outstanding scientific instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to contribute to post-16 advanced science pathways. Operating within a highly successful, oversubscribed all-through academy with an exceptional regional reputation, the successful candidate will facilitate a knowledge-rich, practical-led curriculum designed to foster deep conceptual mastery, experimental literacy, and critical thinking, preparing all pupils thoroughly for exceptional outcomes in GCSE Combined Science and Separate Sciences public examinations.

Experimental Scaffolding & Lab Safety: Maintain rigorous laboratory safety standards while executing engaging practical experiments, utilizing structured teacher demonstrations and explicit, step-by-step scaffolding to build pupils' investigative confidence.
GCSE Performance Optimization: Guide Year 11 examination cohorts meticulously through the rigorous demands of linear terminal papers for both GCSE Combined Science and Separate Sciences, utilizing formative test data to isolate and eliminate misconceptions and maximize high-grade retention.
Closing Science Attainment Gaps: Identify and target learning barriers within mixed-ability cohorts, deploying explicit command-word instruction, visual models, and structured retrieval practice to ensure accessibility for SEND pupils while stretching high-prior-attaining critical thinkers.
Inclusive Pastoral Support: Fulfill full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, supporting pupil wellbeing, managing daily registration routines, and maintaining proactive, positive communication with local families.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in a scientific discipline (such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Sciences) from a reputable institution.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics and exceptional performance outcomes in terminal public GCSE specifications through highly structured, systematic, and explicit science pedagogy.
Analytical & Enthusiastic Ethos: An unwavering commitment to comprehensive education, possessing the exceptional communication skills, patience, and scientific passion required to challenge high-attaining pupils while building academic confidence in pupils of all backgrounds.
