Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Paid to scale
The Role
A premier, high-achieving Secondary Academy in Leeds is seeking a professional, analytically minded, and exceptionally organised Chemistry Teacher to join their expanding STEM faculty. This role represents an excellent opportunity to champion advanced scientific inquiry and practical laboratory skills within a heavily resourced department featuring newly upgraded laboratories, advanced chemical instrumentation, and full-time technician support.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional leadership across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The timetable will involve delivering a rich, challenging curriculum covering atomic structure, quantitative energetics, chemical kinetics, and organic synthesis for GCSE and A-Level exam cohorts, alongside core general science frameworks across Key Stage 3. Beyond classroom teaching, responsibilities include constructing comprehensive student tracking portfolios, implementing targeted technical intervention tracks for mathematical data fluency within calculations, managing laboratory asset logs, and supporting the school's regional chemistry Olympiads and medicine-pathway societies.
You will act as a primary link with parents, examination boards, and local university science networks, requiring absolute professionalism and data accuracy at all times.
