CORE PURPOSE
We require an inspiring, linguistically precise Spanish Teacher to deliver outstanding Spanish instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to contribute to post-16 advanced academic and literary pathways. Operating within a highly successful, oversubscribed all-through academy with an exceptional local reputation, the successful candidate will facilitate a knowledge-rich, immersive curriculum designed to foster high target-language fluency, spontaneous communication, and a sophisticated understanding of Hispanic culture, preparing all pupils thoroughly for exceptional outcomes in terminal GCSE public examinations.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
High-Fluency & Target-Language Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-impact Spanish lessons across all attainment pathways, systematically embedding phonics mastery, vocabulary retrieval, and complex grammatical scaffolding to build listening, reading, writing, and speaking confidence.
Oracy & Spontaneous Speech Production: Cultivate a vibrant, interactive classroom environment, utilizing low-stakes speaking frameworks and targeted questioning strategies to encourage pupils to speak spontaneously in Spanish, minimizing target-language anxiety.
GCSE Performance Optimization: Guide Year 11 examination cohorts meticulously through the rigorous demands of linear terminal papers across all core skills, utilizing formative test data to isolate and eliminate vocabulary gaps and maximize high-grade boundary retention.
Closing MFL Attainment Gaps: Identify and target learning barriers within mixed-ability cohorts, deploying visual logic models, sentence-builder frameworks, and scaffolded translation structures to ensure accessibility for SEND pupils while stretching high-prior-attaining linguists.
Inclusive Pastoral Support: Fulfil full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, supporting pupil wellbeing, managing daily registration routines, and maintaining proactive, positive communication with local families.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Spanish Studies or Modern Foreign Languages. Native or near-native target language proficiency is required.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics and exceptional performance outcomes in terminal public GCSE examinations through highly structured, systematic, and explicit language pedagogy.
