CORE PURPOSE
We require an inspiring, industry-focused Science Teacher to deliver outstanding scientific instruction across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, specializing in applied science pathways, vocational technical qualifications (such as T-Levels or BTECs), and GCSE Separate and Combined Sciences. Operating within an innovative, employer-led Studio School catering to pupils aged 14 to 19, the successful candidate will facilitate a contextualized, project-based curriculum designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial application, preparing pupils thoroughly for technical workplace deployments, higher apprenticeships, and terminal public examinations.

Contextualized & Technical Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-quality science lessons across GCSE and advanced technical/vocational pathways, systematically mapping core biological, chemical, and physical principles to real-world industrial and laboratory processes.
Employer-Linked Project Delivery: Collaborate with local engineering, aerospace, and biomedical manufacturing partners to embed authentic workplace projects, industrial case studies, and advanced data-analysis techniques into the science curriculum.
Vocational & GCSE Optimization: Guide Key Stage 4 and post-16 examination cohorts meticulously through the demands of both terminal linear GCSE science papers and continuous technical/vocational module assessments, utilizing diagnostic tracking to optimize progress metrics.
Scaffolding Technical Literacy: Identify and target learning barriers across a diverse intake of students joining at Year 10, deploying explicit command-word coaching, visual logic models, and workplace-aligned practical guides to support SEND pupils while stretching advanced technical analysts.
Professional Mentorship & Pastoral Care: Fulfil personal tutor responsibilities for a dedicated cohort of students, managing workplace readiness routines, supporting professional wellbeing, and maintaining proactive communication with families and industry mentors.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in a scientific discipline (such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Applied/Industrial Sciences). Relevant industry or laboratory experience outside of education is highly valued.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics across both academic GCSE specifications and technical/vocational science pathways through structured, workplace-contextualized pedagogy.
