Business Teacher Role in an Independent School
An Independent School in Liverpool is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable Business Teacher to join its thriving Social Sciences department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Business across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually rigorous lessons that develop students’ analytical, evaluative, and decision-making skills.
Students study key areas including marketing, finance, operations, human resources, and business strategy. You will prepare learners for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations while encouraging them to explore contemporary business issues and evaluate real-world case studies with confidence and depth.
You will also contribute to enrichment opportunities such as enterprise projects, guest speaker events, business competitions, university preparation sessions, and wider co-curricular activities that enhance students’ understanding of the commercial world.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Business across KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations
Develop students’ analytical, evaluative, and commercial thinking skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support enrichment activities, enterprise initiatives, and careers education
Foster entrepreneurial thinking and independent learning

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary level
Ability to teach KS4 and KS5 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Business
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Business
Ability to contribute to wider Social Sciences teaching
Experience leading enrichment or enterprise activities
A proven track record of strong student outcomes
