Spanish Teacher Role in an Outstanding Secondary School

About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Students study a rich curriculum covering grammar, vocabulary, translation, and cultural topics relating to Spanish-speaking countries. You will prepare learners for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations while encouraging them to communicate fluently and confidently in real-world contexts.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through language clubs, cultural enrichment activities, exchange opportunities, educational visits, and events that bring language learning to life beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that build fluency and confidence
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations
Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support language enrichment activities, trips, and cultural events
Foster enthusiasm and curiosity for languages and global cultures

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge of Spanish language and culture
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach a second language such as French or German
Experience contributing to language enrichment activities or exchanges
A proven track record of strong student outcomes
