Caretaker
A successful Secondary School in Hull is seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join its experienced premises team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming learning environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school buildings and grounds remain secure, well maintained and fully operational throughout the year.
Working alongside the Premises Manager, you will be responsible for opening and securing the school site, carrying out routine inspections and completing minor repairs across classrooms, offices and communal areas. You will respond promptly to maintenance requests, monitor the condition of the site and ensure facilities remain safe and presentable for students, staff and visitors.
The role also includes maintaining external grounds, assisting with planned preventative maintenance, supporting contractors while they are on site and preparing rooms for examinations, assemblies, performances, parents' evenings and community events. You will assist with deliveries, move furniture and equipment where required and help maintain security across the school through regular site checks.
Health and safety will form a key part of the role, including carrying out routine compliance checks, reporting maintenance issues and ensuring all work is completed in line with school policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will possess good practical maintenance skills, excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards across the school site.

Requirements
Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience desirable
Good practical maintenance and repair skills
Knowledge of health and safety procedures
