Art Technician
A welcoming Primary School in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames is seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to join its dedicated support team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for creativity who enjoys supporting young learners through engaging practical activities. Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure art lessons are well prepared, resources are readily available and creative spaces remain organised, safe and inspiring.
You will prepare a wide variety of materials including paints, clay, textiles, printmaking equipment, drawing materials and mixed-media resources before lessons begin. You will maintain stock levels, organise storage areas, order new equipment and ensure all specialist resources are maintained to an excellent standard throughout the year.
The role also includes creating attractive displays of pupils' artwork throughout the school, preparing exhibitions for parents' evenings and school events, supporting after-school art clubs and assisting with whole-school creative projects and themed curriculum weeks.
Working alongside teachers, you will help maintain inspiring learning environments that encourage pupils to develop confidence, creativity and artistic skills. You will also ensure all equipment is stored safely and practical activities comply with current health and safety guidance.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong practical abilities and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting creative education.

Requirements
Previous Art Technician or creative arts experience desirable
Good practical knowledge of artistic materials and equipment
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to maintain specialist resources
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of health and safety within practical learning environments
Passion for supporting creative education
