You would be joining a highly successful Sixth Form department where Economics is one of the school's most popular A-Level subjects. The department is committed to developing confident, analytical students with an excellent understanding of both microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, preparing them for university study and careers in finance, business and public policy.

Students explore topics including market structures, government intervention, international trade, inflation, economic growth and behavioural economics through engaging lessons that encourage debate, independent research and evidence-based analysis. Teachers challenge students to apply economic theory to current affairs, helping them develop strong evaluative and essay-writing skills.

The department has established links with universities, financial organisations and local businesses, offering students opportunities to attend economics conferences, university lectures, investment competitions and careers events. Staff work collaboratively to produce high-quality teaching resources and continually refine the curriculum to reflect current economic developments.
