Art Technician
A successful Secondary School in Doncaster is seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to join its thriving Art department on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for creativity and practical arts who enjoys supporting both teachers and students in a busy department. The successful candidate will ensure practical lessons are delivered efficiently while maintaining a safe, organised and inspiring environment where students can develop their artistic talents.
Working closely with the Head of Art and teaching staff, you will prepare classrooms and specialist workspaces before lessons, ensuring all materials, equipment and resources are available for students across KS3, KS4 and KS5. You will prepare paints, clay, printmaking equipment, textiles materials, drawing resources and mixed media supplies while ensuring all specialist equipment is maintained to an excellent standard.
You will monitor stock levels, order new materials, organise storage areas and maintain accurate inventories of departmental equipment. The role also includes preparing displays of students' work, supporting GCSE and A-Level exhibitions, mounting artwork for displays and helping organise open evenings, community exhibitions and enrichment activities.
Health and safety will form an important part of the role, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, hazardous materials are stored correctly and practical classrooms remain clean, organised and ready for teaching throughout the school year.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong practical abilities and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting creative learning.

Requirements
Previous Art Technician or creative arts experience desirable
Good practical knowledge of artistic materials and equipment
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to maintain specialist resources
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of health and safety procedures
Passion for supporting creative education
