Site Supervisor
A welcoming Primary School in Wakefield is seeking a reliable and proactive Site Supervisor to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional or caretaker who enjoys a varied, practical role and takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming learning environment. The successful candidate will ensure the school's buildings and grounds remain well maintained while supporting the day-to-day operation of the site.
Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will be responsible for opening and securing the school, carrying out routine maintenance, responding to repair requests and ensuring classrooms and communal areas remain safe and fully operational.
You will undertake regular site inspections, monitor contractors, coordinate planned maintenance and ensure all statutory compliance checks are completed in line with health and safety legislation. The role also includes preparing rooms for assemblies, performances, parents' evenings and school events while maintaining the external grounds to a high standard throughout the year.
You will assist with deliveries, move furniture and equipment where required, monitor security systems and identify opportunities to improve the school's facilities through preventative maintenance and efficient site management.
The successful candidate will possess strong practical skills, excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to maintaining a high-quality environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Requirements
Previous Site Supervisor, Caretaker or Facilities experience desirable
Good practical maintenance and repair skills
Knowledge of health and safety procedures
Excellent organisational abilities
Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
