Maths Teacher Role in a Community Secondary School

About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that develop students' mathematical fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Students follow a carefully sequenced curriculum covering number, algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, and mathematical modelling, with opportunities to study A-Level Mathematics in the sixth form. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations while encouraging them to think logically, solve complex problems, and apply mathematics confidently in a variety of real-world contexts.
You will also contribute to curriculum development, intervention programmes, and enrichment opportunities including maths clubs, STEM initiatives, UK Mathematics Challenge events, and activities that promote confidence and enjoyment in the subject.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations
Develop students' reasoning, fluency, and problem-solving skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support intervention strategies and mathematics enrichment activities
Foster confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for Mathematics

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics
Experience contributing to STEM or mathematics enrichment initiatives
Ability to support intervention programmes that raise attainment
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
