Drama Teacher Role in a Creative Arts Academy
A vibrant and forward-thinking Creative Arts Academy in Liverpool is seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join its thriving Performing Arts department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Drama across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire students to develop their performance skills, creativity, and understanding of theatrical practice.
Students explore a wide range of dramatic styles, practitioners, scripted and devised performance, theatre history, and performance techniques while preparing for GCSE and A-Level Drama and Theatre qualifications. You will encourage students to become confident performers, thoughtful collaborators, and reflective practitioners.
You will also play a key role in the wider life of the department by directing school productions, organising theatre visits, leading drama clubs, and supporting performance showcases that celebrate students' creativity and talent.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Drama across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Drama and Theatre examinations
Develop students' performance, communication, and creative skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Lead extracurricular productions, performances, and enrichment activities
Foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration through the performing arts

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Drama at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Drama and Theatre
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Drama and Theatre
Experience directing school productions and performances
Ability to contribute to wider Performing Arts provision
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
