Economics Teacher Role in an Outstanding Sixth Form College
An Outstanding Sixth Form College in Walsall is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable Economics Teacher to join its highly successful Social Sciences department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Economics across Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons that develop students' analytical thinking, commercial awareness, and understanding of economic theory.
Students follow a comprehensive A-Level curriculum covering microeconomics and macroeconomics, including markets, market failure, inflation, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policy, international trade, globalisation, and economic development. You will prepare students for A-Level examinations while encouraging them to evaluate real-world economic events, interpret data confidently, and construct evidence-based arguments.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through economics societies, enterprise events, university preparation, guest speaker programmes, debating competitions, and enrichment activities that broaden students' understanding of business and the global economy.

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Economics at KS5
Excellent subject knowledge in Economics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Economics
Experience working in a sixth form or post-16 environment
Ability to contribute to Business or other Social Sciences
A proven track record of delivering excellent examination outcomes
