Premises Manager
A successful Secondary School in Durham is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the management of its school site on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and practical professional who is committed to maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the school's buildings, grounds and facilities while leading the premises team and ensuring the site operates efficiently throughout the year.
Working closely with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, contractor management, cleaning services and site security. You will ensure statutory inspections are completed on time, maintain compliance records and oversee all aspects of health and safety across the school.
Responsibilities include managing maintenance schedules, supervising contractors, monitoring premises budgets, coordinating servicing programmes and ensuring facilities are prepared for examinations, parents' evenings, performances and community events. You will also identify opportunities to improve the school environment through ongoing maintenance and future development projects.
The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, strong organisational abilities and previous experience managing premises within a school or similar environment.

Requirements
Previous Premises or Facilities Management experience
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
Experience managing contractors and maintenance programmes
Excellent leadership and organisational skills
Good practical maintenance knowledge
Budget management experience desirable
Commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment
