The Role
A progressive Secondary School in Liverpool is seeking a professional, media-literate, and highly organised Media Studies & English Teacher to join their expanding Communications and Creative Arts faculty. This position is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who excels at teaching both media semiotics, digital text creation, and traditional English literature frameworks, working within a department equipped with modern digital edit suites and media studios.
The successful candidate will deliver a dynamic and challenging timetable across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, preparing students for exceptional outcomes in media language, representation paradigms, industry regulation, and audience theory up to GCSE and A-Level, alongside core English Language and Literature modules. Beyond classroom teaching, you will be expected to construct precise student progress tracking portfolios, manage digital software parameters across the department's editing networks, update school tracking software, and actively lead the school’s competitive journalism clubs, film analysis forums, and digital magazine productions.
You will support crisp communication with parents, university creative media faculties, and external examination boards, ensuring that all production coursework portfolios and student assessment registers are processed with total accuracy. Strong administrative and organizational skills are crucial, as the role requires balancing practical media production schedules with rigorous theoretical exam preparation within a busy secondary school framework.

Requirements
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a degree in Media Studies, English, or a closely related discipline
Previous experience delivering Media Studies and English specifications up to GCSE and A-Level with strong results
Strong data literacy and IT skills, with complete confidence using digital media suites (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Photoshop)
Professional and proactive approach to monitoring student metrics and running practical portfolio evaluations
Ability to work effectively and adaptably within a fast-paced, high-achieving faculty
