Food Technology Teacher

You would be joining a successful Design & Technology department where Food Technology is a popular and well-resourced subject. The department is equipped with modern food preparation rooms and specialist equipment, allowing students to develop practical cooking skills alongside a thorough understanding of nutrition, food science and healthy living.

Students are encouraged to become confident, independent learners through practical lessons that combine creativity with technical knowledge. The curriculum enables students to understand food provenance, nutrition, food safety and preparation techniques while developing valuable life skills and preparing them successfully for GCSE examinations.

Teachers work closely together to create engaging schemes of work and regularly share resources and teaching ideas. Students also benefit from enrichment opportunities including cooking competitions, themed food events and links with local businesses and colleges.
