Attendance Officer
A well-established Secondary School in Worcester is seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join its pastoral support team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving attendance and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed. The successful candidate will work closely with pastoral leaders, teaching staff, parents and external agencies to promote excellent attendance and punctuality across the school.
You will monitor daily attendance, complete first-day absence calls, maintain accurate attendance records and analyse attendance data to identify trends and areas requiring intervention. Working with Heads of Year and the safeguarding team, you will support students whose attendance falls below expected levels by implementing targeted strategies and building positive relationships with families.
The role also includes preparing attendance reports for senior leaders and governors, maintaining records using the school's management information system, organising attendance meetings and ensuring statutory attendance procedures are followed consistently.
You will be expected to communicate professionally with parents, support home visits where appropriate and work collaboratively with external agencies to remove barriers to education for vulnerable students.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, approachable and committed to promoting excellent attendance as part of the school's wider commitment to student achievement and wellbeing.

Requirements
Previous attendance, pastoral or school administration experience desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational abilities
Experience analysing attendance data and preparing reports
Good IT skills and experience using school management systems
