Maths Teacher Role in an Independent School
A prestigious Independent School in Cambridge is seeking to appoint an outstanding Maths Teacher to join its exceptional Mathematics department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually rigorous lessons that inspire students to develop confidence, resilience, and a genuine appreciation for mathematics.
Students follow a broad and challenging curriculum covering algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, mechanics, and pure mathematics, with opportunities to study Further Mathematics at A-Level. You will prepare students for GCSE, A-Level, and Further Mathematics examinations while encouraging them to think critically, solve complex problems, and apply mathematical concepts to real-world contexts.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through enrichment activities including the UK Mathematics Challenge, Olympiad preparation, STEM projects, university outreach, and mathematics societies.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons
Prepare students for GCSE, A-Level, and Further Mathematics examinations
Develop students' mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support mathematics competitions, STEM initiatives, and enrichment activities
Foster a passion for mathematics and intellectual curiosity

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Excellent subject knowledge in Mathematics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level and Further Mathematics
Experience preparing students for mathematics competitions or university entrance
Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment programmes
A proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
