Economics Teacher Role in an Outstanding Sixth Form
An Outstanding Sixth Form in Luton is seeking to appoint an exceptional Economics Teacher to join its highly successful Social Sciences department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Economics at Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually rigorous lessons that inspire students to develop a deep understanding of economic theory and its application to real-world issues.
Students study a comprehensive A-Level curriculum covering microeconomics and macroeconomics, including market failure, competition, labour markets, inflation, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policy, international trade, economic development, and globalisation. You will prepare students for A-Level examinations while encouraging them to analyse current affairs, interpret economic data, and construct well-reasoned arguments.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through economics societies, university preparation, guest speaker events, enterprise activities, debating competitions, and enrichment programmes that broaden students' understanding of the global economy.

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Economics at KS5
Excellent subject knowledge in Economics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Economics
Experience working in a sixth form or post-16 setting
Ability to contribute to wider Social Sciences provision
A proven track record of delivering excellent examination outcomes
