Science Teacher Role in a High-Achieving Secondary School
A high-achieving and forward-thinking Secondary School in Rugby is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join its outstanding Science department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and analytical thinking.
At KS3 and KS4, you will teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through a broad and engaging curriculum that combines scientific theory with practical investigation. At KS5, you will have the opportunity to teach your specialist discipline, supporting students as they prepare for A-Level examinations and progression to higher education or STEM careers.
You will also contribute to curriculum development, intervention programmes, and a wide range of STEM enrichment opportunities, including science clubs, competitions, educational visits, and outreach projects with local universities and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively
Assess student progress and provide high-quality feedback
Support curriculum planning and departmental development
Contribute to STEM enrichment activities and extracurricular programmes
Inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong interest in science

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science in a specialist discipline
Experience contributing to STEM enrichment activities
Ability to support intervention programmes that raise attainment
A proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes
