The Role
The successful candidate will join a dynamic Design Technology department and will:
• Deliver engaging and challenging Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach specialist areas depending on experience.
• Inspire students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and confidence through practical design projects.
• Create an inclusive workshop and classroom environment that supports learners of all abilities.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and enrichment opportunities within the department.
• Support extracurricular activities including design projects, competitions, clubs, and STEM initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and practical outcomes.
There may also be opportunities to contribute to wider STEM and cross-curricular projects across the school community.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is seeking a teacher who:
• Holds, or is working towards, QTS.
• Has a degree or relevant qualification in Design Technology, Engineering, Product Design, Graphics, or a related subject.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative and practical education.
• Is committed to raising achievement and supporting student confidence and wellbeing.
• Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Brings enthusiasm, innovation, and a proactive approach to school life.
