An excellent secondary school in Portsmouth is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious Curriculum Lead of Geography from September 2026 to lead a successful and supportive department. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced Geography teacher who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey and make a lasting impact on students and staff.
Geography is a highly valued subject within the school, with students encouraged to explore the relationships between people, places, environments, and global issues. About the Role
As Curriculum Lead of Geography, you will lead the strategic development of the subject across Key Stages 3 and 4, with responsibility for curriculum design, teaching quality, and student outcomes. There may also be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

• Lead the development and delivery of an ambitious, engaging, and inclusive Geography curriculum.
• Inspire and support teachers through effective leadership, coaching, collaboration, and sharing of best practice.
• Ensure students develop strong geographical knowledge, enquiry skills, and the ability to think critically about real-world issues.
• Use assessment, data, and curriculum review to drive improvement and maximise student progress.
• Promote a love of Geography through enrichment opportunities, fieldwork, trips, and wider school activities.
