The Role
A progressive Secondary School in Bournemouth is seeking a professional, technologically minded, and highly organised Music Technology & Performing Arts Teacher to join their expanding creative arts team. This position is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who excels at teaching digital composition, audio engineering, and live sound production, working within a department equipped with recording studios, mixing suites, and modern midi labs.
The successful candidate will deliver a dynamic and challenging timetable across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, preparing students for exceptional outcomes in sound design, multi-track recording, synthesis, and acoustic analysis up to A-Level and Vocational Level 3 specifications. Beyond classroom teaching, you will be expected to construct precise student progress tracking logs, manage software license parameters across the department's recording networks, maintain hardware assets, and actively lead the school’s technical theatre crews, sound engineering clubs, and live production showcases.
You will support crisp communication with parents, visiting industry mentors, and external examination boards, ensuring that all portfolio moderation logs and student assessment profiles are processed with total accuracy. Strong administrative and organizational skills are crucial, as the role requires balancing complex studio booking tracking schedules with theoretical exam preparation within a busy secondary school framework.

Requirements
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a degree in Music Technology, Sound Production, or a closely related discipline
Previous experience delivering Music Technology specs up to Key Stage 5/BTEC Level 3 with strong results
Strong data literacy and IT skills, with complete confidence using industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Logic Pro, Cubase)
Professional and proactive approach to monitoring student metrics and running practical studio evaluations
Ability to work effectively and adaptably within a fast-paced, high-achieving faculty
