Art Teacher Role in a Creative Arts College
A vibrant and forward-thinking Creative Arts College in Northampton is seeking to appoint an imaginative and passionate Art Teacher to join its successful Creative Arts faculty from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering inspiring lessons that encourage experimentation, technical skill, and creative confidence.
Students explore a broad range of artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, photography, and digital art. You will support learners in developing observational skills, critical analysis, and independent creative practice while preparing them for GCSE and A-Level Art qualifications.
You will also contribute to the wider creative life of the school through exhibitions, competitions, artist workshops, educational visits, and collaborative projects that celebrate students' achievements both within the school and the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Art across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations
Develop students' creative, observational, and analytical skills
Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Organise exhibitions, competitions, and enrichment activities
Foster creativity, confidence, and independent artistic practice

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Art at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic disciplines
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Art
Knowledge of digital art, photography, or mixed media
Experience organising exhibitions or creative enrichment activities
A proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes
