Science Teacher Role in an Outstanding All-Through School
An Outstanding All-Through School in Birmingham is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its exceptional Science department from September. About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to think critically and explore the world around them.
You will teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach your specialist discipline at A-Level. Practical investigation is central to the department's approach, enabling students to develop excellent laboratory skills alongside strong scientific knowledge and analytical thinking.
You will also contribute to curriculum development, intervention programmes, and a wide range of STEM enrichment opportunities, including science clubs, competitions, educational visits, and university partnership initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively
Monitor student progress and provide high-quality feedback
Support curriculum planning and departmental development
Contribute to STEM enrichment, competitions, and extracurricular activities
Foster curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong interest in science

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Ability to teach a Science specialism at KS5
Experience contributing to STEM enrichment initiatives
A proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes
