Caretaker
A successful Mixed Secondary School in Solihull is seeking a dependable and hardworking Caretaker to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the school buildings and grounds remain well maintained and fully operational throughout the year.
You will be responsible for opening and securing the school site, carrying out routine inspections, undertaking minor maintenance and repairs and ensuring all facilities remain safe and fit for purpose.
Working alongside the Site Manager, you will assist with planned maintenance, supervise contractors, monitor health and safety standards and prepare facilities for examinations, assemblies, performances, parents' evenings and other school events.
The role also includes maintaining external areas, responding promptly to maintenance requests, assisting with deliveries and ensuring all buildings remain clean, secure and presentable.
The successful candidate will possess excellent practical skills, strong organisational abilities and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistently high standards across the school site.
