CORE PURPOSE
We require an ambitious, highly skilled Art & Design Teacher to deliver elite visual arts instruction across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. Operating within a high-achieving, academically selective grammar school framework, the successful candidate will facilitate a rigorous, studio-led curriculum designed to cultivate exceptional technical mastery, critical contextual analysis, and sophisticated conceptual development, preparing all pupils thoroughly for terminal GCSE Fine Art and linear A-Level Art, Craft and Design examinations.

Contextual & Critical Analysis Studies: Cultivate advanced critical thinking by integrating art history, contemporary visual culture, and critical theory into practical design work, guiding pupils to articulate complex analytical concepts in their portfolios.
Elite Portfolio & NEA Moderation: Guide GCSE and A-Level examination cohorts meticulously through the demanding requirements of their personal portfolios and externally set assignments, tracking progress metrics to ensure exceptional high-grade boundary retention.
Studio Logistical Management: Oversee the department's premium equipment and materials with meticulous care, managing specialized stock allocation, organizing gallery excursions, and maintaining a safe, highly functional workspace environment.
Academic Pastoral Mentorship: Fulfill full form tutor and academic mentor responsibilities within an established pastoral framework, supporting student wellbeing, managing university application guidance (UCAS) for creative industries and architecture pathways, and maintaining professional communication with families.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Fine Art, Visual Communication, or a closely related contemporary arts discipline.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver top-tier progress metrics and exceptional high-grade outcomes in terminal public GCSE and A-Level examinations through structured, rigorous pedagogy.
