Maths & Computer Science Teacher - Renowned Secondary Academy in Birmingham
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Paid to scale
The Role
A renowned Secondary Academy in Birmingham is seeking a professional, highly analytical, and exceptionally organised Mathematics & Computer Science Teacher to join their advanced STEM faculty. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who can seamlessly bridge the gap between pure mathematical theory and practical computational logic, working across two highly successful and well-resourced departments.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional leadership across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The timetable will split focus between core mathematics (including algebraic modeling, calculus, and statistical frameworks) and computer science modules (focusing on software development, data structures, and algorithms). Beyond the classroom, responsibilities include maintaining precise student tracking databases, updating internal tracking software, managing parental correspondence, and actively leading the academy’s coding clubs, cryptography challenges, and regional mathematics tournaments.
You will act as a primary link with parents, examination boards, and local university STEM networks, requiring absolute professionalism and data accuracy at all times. Strong organisational skills are a prerequisite, as you will balance the heavy grading and marking requirements of mathematics exams alongside the technical debugging and practical project moderation demands of computer science portfolios.
The school is looking for a proactive, reliable professional who can break down complex mathematical proofs and programming syntax (such as Python or Java) into crisp, engaging, and high-impact lessons. Strong communication, deep data literacy, and a collaborative spirit are important to thriving within this progressive academic faculty.
