Business Teaching Role in a Girls’ Secondary School
A high-achieving Girls’ Secondary School in Ilford is seeking to appoint a talented and ambitious Business Teacher to join its successful Business and Economics department from September. Business is a popular and growing subject within the school, with students demonstrating strong engagement in entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and the wider commercial world.
About the Role
You will teach Business across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons that challenge students and support strong progress.
Students will study topics including marketing, finance, operations, human resources, strategic management, and business decision-making. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations while helping them develop analytical, evaluative, and commercial awareness skills.
The successful candidate will also contribute to enterprise enrichment, careers activities, business competitions, and wider opportunities that broaden students’ understanding of the business world and future pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Business across KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging and intellectually challenging lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Develop students’ analytical, evaluative, and research skills
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Monitor progress and implement effective intervention strategies
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support enterprise initiatives, enrichment activities, and careers events

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Business at secondary level
Ability to teach KS4 and KS5 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Business and related disciplines
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Business
Ability to contribute to enterprise and careers programmes
Experience supporting high-attaining students
Strong track record of examination success and student progress
